Adventures of an Upcoming Exhibition

Hello World, ‚ô•

My new work will come together next year in an exciting exhibition. ūüôā

Here is the journey so far…

It¬†tells¬†the tale of a young, minuscule girl and her travels across what appear to us adults as an everyday, mundane wall with the familiar patterned wallpaper. But to this tiny girl it very quickly turns into something much more than that…

On her quest she finds friends to help her on her way to discover this new world. Travelling by hover bee, by boat across a colossal tea stain ocean, the girl ends up in the most wondrous places that not even she could imagine.

Discovering the beauty of a hidden world within the wall that the rest of us would normally pass by so easily, the girl shows us and brings this world to the viewer eyes, prepare to be mesmerised…

Look out for her appearing on my facebook page here and see more of this magical story at my exhibition next year.

Last Night I dreamt Somebody loved me

Hello World ‚ô•

Most of you will know this work but not many know the story behind this portrait of a lonely soul.

From a time when trees touched the skies and the moon kept a watchful eye over the world; there lived a beast…

Many creatures inhabited this strange world but this was no ordinary creature, it was in the deep forest thousands of years ago where this soul first came to life.  With the force to rip a hole in the earth with one swoop the beast held such strength and power. However for all his might the beast suffered intensely from a great loneliness. Such a feeling swept over the beast like a vast plague, he was hopeless to it.

The only escape he found from such pain was to dream, dream so deeply into the night of love and happiness, something he feared he would never attain. The beast fell into a deep sleep every night without fail, his tentacles reaching out in anticipation for love. But the world of dreams can be a cunning friend, for nobody warned the beast not to fall into the delusion created by this state and that you may begin to forget all truth and certainty.

That was indeed what the beast did, he no longer knew what it was to live. He had forgotten the forest, the sweet sight of the moon shining down on him. His strength was taken from him to feed the deception of which he will never wake from.
